Following a COVID-19 outbreak in a Charlottetown school, Prince Edward Island is reinstating the province’s mask mandate starting at 8 am on Friday, September 17. Individuals must wear a mask in indoor public spaces. These public spaces include:
Exemptions are allowed for children under two years old and people who have valid medical reasons such as active breathing problems or difficulty removing a mask without assistance.
The province is also working on a vaccine passport system that is expected to be ready in early October. The system will be similar to the vaccine passport system in Nova Scotia.
